Client Requirements
The client wanted to custom design a marble fireplace for each of the study, living room, entertainment room, and master bedroom in the same private residence, and provided us with reference images of their preferred fireplace styles.
This project was not simply about producing four identical fireplaces. Each of the four spaces differed in size and on-site conditions, so two main challenges needed to be addressed.
Challenge 1: How to adapt the design from reference images to suit four different spaces?
The client already had a preferred fireplace design direction, but the reference images only conveyed the appearance and could not be used directly for production.
The wall dimensions, fireplace openings, and overall spatial proportions of the study, living room, entertainment room, and master bedroom were all different. Therefore, even with similar design references, each fireplace required its own dimensions and proportions tailored to its specific space.
Challenge 2: How to avoid producing fireplaces based on outdated measurements after on-site re-measurement?
After entering the design confirmation phase for the four fireplaces, the client and on-site contractor re-measured the actual installation locations and found that some previously provided dimensions needed adjustment. The living room fireplace design also required further modification.
For custom stone fireplaces, if production begins using incorrect measurements, the finished product may not match the opening, width, or overall proportions required on site.
Our Solution
01 | Develop custom designs for each space rather than directly copying reference images
After receiving the client's reference images, we first organized the design requirements and site measurements for each space individually.
The reference images were mainly used to determine the preferred style and design direction. Once in the custom design phase, the dimensions and proportions of each fireplace were redefined according to the installation location.
As a result, the fireplaces for the study, living room, entertainment room, and master bedroom were each designed separately, rather than being duplicated with a single set of dimensions.
We created technical drawings tailored to the actual conditions of each space, allowing the client to confirm the shape, dimensions, and opening layout of each fireplace before production.
Ultimately, all four fireplaces retained the design direction from the client's reference images while fitting the unique requirements of each space in the residence.

02 | Update drawings after on-site measurement changes, using the final confirmed version for production
During the project, the client and on-site contractor re-measured the fireplace installation locations and found that some original measurements had changed.
Upon receiving the new site data, we did not proceed with production using the previous measurements. Instead, we rechecked the dimensions and opening layouts for the relevant fireplaces and updated the technical drawings according to the latest measurements.
When the site conditions for the living room fireplace changed, the client requested further adjustments. We revised the design again based on the new requirements and updated the relevant order documentation.
After all changes were completed, the client confirmed the final drawings, and the final confirmed technical drawings were used as the basis for production.
This approach allows for timely design corrections before stone fabrication, even if the residence is still under construction and site dimensions change, reducing the risk of mismatches when the finished products arrive on site.

Client Feedback
After the four fireplaces were completed, we sent final product photos to the client. The client responded positively and began confirming the balance payment and subsequent shipping arrangements.

Need multiple custom fireplaces for one residence?
Fireplaces in different rooms do not necessarily need to have identical dimensions and designs.
If you already have reference images of fireplaces you like, you can send us the reference images, site photos of each space, and actual measured dimensions.
We can adjust the size, opening, and overall proportions of each fireplace according to the specific space, and complete final confirmation through technical drawings before production.
For residential projects still under construction, we also recommend that the on-site construction team double-check key measurements before production. If site conditions change, update the design and technical drawings first before stone fabrication to reduce dimensional and installation issues after delivery.
