Saint Luke the Evangelist, is one of the four authors of the canonical Gospels in the New Testament. This statue of Saint Luke is hand-carved with a bull, which is visible at his feet. This symbolism comes from the tetramorph, where each of the four Evangelists is associated with a living creature from the Book of Ezekiel and the Book of Revelation: Matthew with a man, Mark with a lion, Luke with a bull, and John with an eagle.

The bull symbolizes sacrifice and strength, reflecting the aspects of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection, which Saint Luke emphasizes in his Gospel.
